# Read a job's log

`GET https://api.admiral.io/v1/jobs/{job_id}/log`

Scope: `agent:read`

### Path parameters

- `job_id` (string, required): The job_id path parameter. Pattern `^job-[0-9a-z]+$`.

### Query parameters

- `offset` (string (int64)): Read from here, in bytes. 0 reads from the start. Value at least 0.
- `max_bytes` (integer (int32)): Return at most this many bytes. Defaults to 1 MiB when 0. Value 0 to 4194304.

### Response 200

Success

- `chunk` (string (byte))
- `next_offset` (string (int64)): Where the next read should start.
- `complete` (boolean): The job has finished and the log will not grow.
- `truncated` (boolean): The log reached its cap and the server dropped part of the middle.
