# Retrieve a live component's values

`GET https://api.admiral.io/v1/environments/{environment_id}/components/{component}/values`

Scope: `env:read`

### Path parameters

- `environment_id` (string, required): The environment_id path parameter. Pattern `^env-[0-9a-z]+$`.
- `component` (string, required): The component path parameter. Pattern `^[a-z]([a-z0-9-]{0,51}[a-z0-9])?$`. Length 1 to 53.

### Query parameters

- `effective` (boolean): Return the whole tree it receives, not only the values set on it.

### Response 200

Success

- `tree_json` (string): A JSON object.
- `sources` (array of ValueSource): With `effective`, where each leaf came from; empty otherwise.
  - `path` (array of PathSegment)
    - `key` (string, required): Length 1 to 256.
  - `origin` (Origin): Origin is the layer a value came from, lowest first: each layer is laid over the ones before it. One of `ORIGIN_UNSPECIFIED`, `ORIGIN_COMPONENT_DEFAULT`, `ORIGIN_BASELINE`, `ORIGIN_ENVIRONMENT`, `ORIGIN_CHANGE_SET`.
- `last_apply` (LastApply): The apply that last changed it.
  - `change_set_id` (string): The change set that was applied. Pattern `^cs-[0-9a-z]+$`.
  - `revision_id` (string): The change set revision that was applied. Pattern `^rev-[0-9a-z]+$`.
  - `applied_at` (Timestamp): When the apply finished.
